Eschewing the horror/comedy tone of the first two, Return of the Living Dead 3 is a dark horror film with elements of a tragic love story and body piercing. When rebellious couple get into a motorcycle accident, Curt, the boyfriend, decides to break into the army base his father works for and use the gas stored away to bring his love back to life. It works, but it comes with the unexpected side effects of a craving for human flesh.
If you've seen any of other Brian Yuzna's films like Society and Bride of Re-Animator, you have a good idea of what to expect in Return of the Living Dead 3. However, does a penchant for outlandish body horror translate into a compelling picture? Find out in my review, only on VHS Revival.
